This research aims to examine the role of education and training in preparing the workforce to meet the requirements of sustainable development in Libya, while drawing on the Singaporean experience as a successful model in this field. The study addressed the issue of the gap between the outputs of educational and training institutions and the needs of the Libyan labor market, particularly in light of rapid economic and social transformations. The descriptive method was adopted through reviewing relevant literature and previous studies, as well as analyzing the challenges facing Libya in workforce preparation. The findings revealed that current educational and training programs do not sufficiently align with the skills and competencies required to achieve sustainable development, highlighting the urgent need to develop curricula and training programs that match labor market demands. The study also emphasized the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and both the public and private sectors, along with the adoption of continuous training policies to enhance workforce capabilities. A set of practical recommendations was proposed to improve the education and training system in Libya, thereby contributing to the preparation of a qualified workforce capable of supporting sustainable development goals.
