Population Demographics in Border Regions: A Field Study on the Relationship Between Demographics and Illegal Migration and Its Impact on Libyan National Security (Qatrun City As a model)

This research paper aims to study the demographic composition in border areas (Al-Qatrun area as a model) in an attempt to highlight its relationship with the phenomenon of illegal migration and clarify its impact on national security in the Libyan state. This sheds light on numerous demographic challenges and helps in understanding the dynamics that link population, migration, and security in the region.
The objectives of the research paper are represented in its attempt to identify the dimensions of the studied phenomenon and its ability to propose strategies to reduce it in an effort to enhance national security in border areas. The study adopts a methodology that combines quantitative and qualitative analysis, in addition to conducting numerous interviews with relevant experts and officials and attempting to analyze related studies and reports.
To achieve the study's objectives, a questionnaire was used as a tool, and a purposive sample was selected that included 50 respondents from administrators at security centers in Al-Qatrun Police Station and employees of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the region.
The study concludes by presenting a comprehensive vision on how to address demographic and security challenges in border areas, with reference to the necessity of adopting integrated strategies that combine migration management and attempts to effectively enhance national security.
