The study aimed to analyze and understand the psychological and social characteristics that distinguish addicts, drawing on the literature and previous studies that were addressed. The study used an analytical approach to deconstruct the phenomenon and explain its dimensions. The study concluded that addiction is not merely an individual behavior, but rather the product of a complex interaction between psychological and social factors, requiring multidimensional interventions that include psychotherapy, family support, and social reintegration. It also emphasizes the importance of understanding defense mechanisms and the surrounding social contexts to design effective and sustainable treatment programs.
