Abstract

Trai The study addressed: (The impact of climate change on the groundwater resources of the city of Abeche - Chad by using remote sensing and geographic information systems), and aims to manage water resources in a sustainable manner to keep pace with the demographic growth of the population, using modern technologies to identify areas of water abundance and draw general maps to identify areas of water deficiency. Its importance lies in identifying groundwater resources and exploiting them for economic development. Improving the standard of living of the population and their stability in urban and rural areas, creating a geographical information system to identify suitable areas for drilling, and it was based on the following questions: What extent of Impact of climate changes on the groundwater resources? Is the demographic growth of the population directly proportional to the increase in demand for water? Why was the Chadian Water Company unable to provide its services?

It was based on the following hypotheses: Climate changes affect groundwater resources for the demographic growth of the population is directly proportional to the increase in demand for water. The Chadian Water Company was unable to provide its services, and it relied on methods and means of collecting information on the descriptive and analytical approach, books, satellite images, geographic information systems, field studies, personal interviews, questionnaires, magazines, scientific theses, and official documents.

The study reached several results, including: Groundwater resources are divided into (low, very low, medium, high, and very high). The density of groundwater resources is located from the south to the north along the waterways. The population of high-surface neighborhoods suffer from water scarcity in the summer, and the price of drinking water doubles in the summer from (1000 to 3000 francs cfa).

The study recommends the following: using modern technologies to detect and predict climate changes, Assessing and managing groundwater aquifers in a better way, drawing maps to identify areas of abundance and deficiency of water resources in the city, and constructing water tanks in the directions (north, south, east, west).
