Abstract

The research focuses on the role of civil society in Libya and its impact on national security after the 2011 transformations. Civil society includes non-profit organizations that work to achieve social and humanitarian goals and is characterized by its independence from the state and the expansion of its activity after the revolution despite the challenges of weak government, militia interference, the absence of legislation, and the spread of weapons. Civil society also contributes to strengthening national security by raising awareness, community participation, and building trust between citizens and the state. To enhance its role, it must be involved in policy formulation, capacity building, strengthening official partnerships, and contributing to dialogue and scientific research to ensure the stability of society and achieve national security in a sustainable manner.
