Abstract

The current research aims to identify the phenomenon of unemployment and determine its causes and the extent of its spread in society through (analyzing the phenomenon of unemployment) using the descriptive analytical approach. The study was conducted within the city of Al-Khoms.

The most important results indicated that Libya is suffering from the aggravation of the phenomenon of structural unemployment resulting from the occupation of the production structure as a result of the cessation of the main production sectors, especially agricultural and industrial sectors.

The procedures to limit some projects helped increase unemployment, as the companies’ management took the initiative to lay off a number of employees due to the surplus workforce in these companies.
