Abstract

This academic study aims to investigate and analyze the profound and direct impacts of armed conflicts and political instability on the exacerbation of humanitarian risks at both regional and international levels, with a particular focus on the Middle East and North Africa region. The study is based on a central problem statement that contemporary wars are no longer limited to military confrontations but have transformed into structural crises that destroy infrastructure, undermine food security, lead to the collapse of health and educational systems, and generate unprecedented waves of forced displacement. The study relies on the descriptive-analytical method and the case study approach (Sudan, Gaza, Yemen, Syria) to deconstruct this phenomenon. The study concluded that the years 2024 and 2025 witnessed the highest rates of forced displacement (more than 120 million displaced persons), catastrophic levels of food insecurity affecting hundreds of millions, as well as systematic targeting of humanitarian workers. The study recommends activating mechanisms of international humanitarian law and transitioning from emergency relief response to a "developmental humanitarian action" approach to enhance the resilience of fragile communities.
