Abstract

In this research we have tried to show how does the combining of environmental audit and sustainability reporting help improve the quality and reliability of sustainability information in the economic unit. We focused on Libya's oil industry as our case. This study follows a descriptive-analytical methodology. A questionnaire was used to gather the needed data. The collected data has been tabulated and described using frequency, percentage, the arithmetic mean, the standard deviation and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and used the suitable tests to test the hypothesis. From the results we found out that there is a relation between combining environmental audit with sustainability reporting to enhance the quality and reliability of sustainability information with P= 0.000. The integration can also help in achieving the goals of sustainable development and will increase the trust of the stakeholders in sustainability reports. It will also make sure that the environmental information is accurate. All the sub hypothesis has been accepted therefore the main hypothesis is accepted. Combining Environmental Audit with Sustainability Reporting can help improve the quality and reliability of information. Increase transparency and trust from the stakeholders as well as achieve the goals of sustainability.
